This Project achieved First in Course Award ARCHDES300.
Before we got into the process of designing a dwelling for Marcel Duchamp, we were tasked with conducting a series of model explorations using Timber, Concrete, Steel & Glass in response to specific Duchamp artworks. However, the thrilling reality of lockdown denied us the luxury of a workshop, therefore we had to think outside the box in order to come up with like-for-like materials from home. In a sense, having to scavenge around the house for substitute materials actually worked in my favour, as they resonated with Duchamp's randomness and spontaneity. It was a challenge trying to make intentionally 'anti-aesthetic', eccentrically-mundane models; but I soon came to love this celebration of the everyday object!
