In March & April of 2019 I was lucky enough to go on an Architectural Study Tour across Morocco and Spain with friends, classmates and teachers from the University of Auckland. From Marrakech to Madrid, Salamanca to Sevilla, Calpe to Cartagena; I think it is fair to say that we saw a few buildings - works by Gaudi, Hadid, Campo Baeza, van der Rohe, RCR Arquitectes, Herzog & de Meuron, Moneo, Ricardo Bofill and Calatrava to name a few. In that time, I enjoyed many moments just sitting there and sketching out the places I'd only ever seen in books or on a screen.
But beyond those unforgettable weeks in the Spanish sun, I also enjoy sketching on home soil. Here's a collection of my favourites.
