The NZIA Festival of Architecture brought the opportunity for me to be heavily involved in the 'Serious About Seville' Exhibition: amalgamating the works of over 65 students that took part in a study tour of Spain and Morocco in early 2019. The exhibition was displayed for a little over a week at the Warren & Mahoney laneway in Wynyard Quarter. Alongside curation, one of my tasks was to put together a site model that could be used to display the D3 models within their urban context. The 1:500 site model encapsulates the dense urban fabric of the Sevilla Feria, and was created from scratch using 100% recycled and offcut timber. The model was then painted in Seville tones to provide a nice contrast against the corten-steel building placed upon it.

The site model upon completion, sat outside the Architecture Building before it was trucked over to Wynyard Quarter.

The work in-progress: The all-recycled and very raw timber model in its' initial stages.

All painted: A few coats of Seville-yellow paint seemed to do the trick when it came to livening up the model!

The work stretched along the Laneway, utilising the sheer length of the space. Images were pinned up and Models were laid to rest.

A fan posing with the Site Model.

'Serious about Seville' Posters courtesy of Jien Lim; These Posters gave the context of the exhibition.

A small-scale 3D Printed model for my own project; Fragmenting the site in response to the surrounding urban fabric as a means of understanding site geometries and compositions.

The W&M Laneway, where our two long tressle tables and double-sided 15-panel exhibition boards were displayed.

Stood next to my recycled creation :)
